Warnock’s ‘Violence’ Smears Against SCOTUS Invite More Leftist Attacks On Its Justices

Leftists will continue to vilify the Supreme Court and mischaracterize its work because they believe doing so will get them what they want: power.

It’s no secret that there’s been an uptick in left-wing threats against the U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative justices in recent years. And it seems that Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., is more than willing to amplify the problem by spreading hyperbolic lies about the court’s work product.

The latest smear campaign came about in the pages of the hoax-peddling New York Times, which was more than happy to give Georgia’s junior senator airtime to hawk his new book. Employing left-wing rhetoric like the good little Democrat propagandist he is, interviewer David Marchese described Warnock’s book as a literary work that “singles out” so-called “voting rights” as one of America’s “most pressing political and moral issues” — an issue Marchese said “has turned for many into a full-blown crisis” following the Supreme Court’s “recent blow” to the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

That “recent blow” was the court’s Louisiana v. Callais ruling, which deemed the Pelican State’s congressional map to be an “unconstitutional racial gerrymander.” What Marchese didn’t bother mentioning is that the only ones experiencing a “full-blown crisis” are Democrats, whose strategy of forcing states to draw racist gerrymandered districts to benefit their party came crashing down as a result of the high court’s decision.

Marchese’s apparent desire for a juicy soundbite of Warnock trashing SCOTUS led him to cite the Democrat senator’s recent slander of Callais as “Jim Crow in new clothes.” In doing so, he asked Warnock to respond to the super-duper hard-hitting question of what “voting rights” means to him since his “parents and grandparents grew up in the Jim Crow South.”

Right on cue, Warnock vilified the high court in a way only Democrats know how. He accused the Callais majority of “committ[ing] violence against the ways in which ordinary people can have a voice in our system,” and further cited the court’s 2013 Shelby County v. Holder decision on the VRA to claim that Chief Justice John Roberts “despises the Voting Rights Act” and “never believed in it.”

“[T]he legacy of the Roberts court is that, through the Shelby case, through the Callais case, and through the Citizens United case, they’ve done a lot of damage to our democracy and our electoral system,” Warnock said.

Reading through the interview to witness the Georgia pastor’s utter incoherence (and inability to recall a Bible verse) is definitely worth doing in its entirety. But for the sake of this article, let’s stay with Warnock’s smears against SCOTUS.

What the Peach State Democrat is doing is part of the left’s coordinated campaign to destroy the Supreme Court. Because their ideology no longer governs the court and it can’t be used to advance their agenda via activist rulings, Warnock and Co. are now gunning to undermine the conservative majority and set the stage for Democrats’ court-packing gambit through any means necessary.

It just so happens that these efforts accusing the Supreme Court of committing “violence” and doing “damage” to American “democracy” are prompting their lunatic base to threaten the lives and safety of the justices.

When someone leaked the 2022 Dobbs draft opinion showing that the high court would overturn Roe v. Wade, Democrats’ hyperbolic lies about the court conducting an “assault on the dignity, rights, & lives of women” and the made-up “fundamental right” to abortion were followed by threats of violence against the conservative justices.

Seemingly following the breadcrumbs laid by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who previously warned Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh that they’d “pay the price” if they ruled against the left’s preferred abortion precedent, left-wing anarchists showed up at the homes of these justices with the intent to intimidate them into changing their position in the case. Such actions were enabled by the Biden administration, which declined to prosecute the apparent crimes and encouraged activists to continue the demonstrations.

The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway further detailed in her book Alito how Justice Samuel Alito and his family “were moved to a secure location” as the left’s anger and threats intensified. Meanwhile, Justice Amy Coney Barrett “had to put on a bulletproof vest in front of her children, most of whom still lived at home.”

The fallout from the Dobbs leak culminated in a man attempting to assassinate Kavanaugh at his home, where he lived with his family. The would-be killer has since received a light sentence from a Biden-appointed judge.

And yet, despite this wave of threats, the Supreme Court’s Democrat-appointed justices denied requests from their conservative colleagues to finish their dissent and expedite Dobbs‘ release. In fact, Hemingway reported in Alito how the court’s leftists did the opposite by slow-walking their dissent while their colleagues’ lives were under siege.

These threats against the conservative justices have only continued in the years since.

A Michigan Democrat Senate candidate fantasized at a campaign event late last year about chucking beers at Kavanaugh and Barrett if given the chance. Earlier this year, Justice Clarence Thomas was forced to deliver remarks at an American University event virtually after a reported “security threat” jeopardized his and attendees’ safety. And most recently, there was a reported swatting incident at Barrett’s home — a newsworthy development the Times hasn’t bothered to report on as of publication.

But Democrats don’t care about any of that.

Much like their ongoing embrace of assassination-prep-style rhetoric against President Trump even after several attempts on his life, leftists will continue to vilify the Supreme Court and mischaracterize its work because they believe doing so will get them what they want: power.

For them, the threats against the conservative justices are a necessary consequence of achieving that objective. And if something terrible were to happen to one of the justices in the process, then so be it.
