Kmele Foster, a producer at Freethink media and host of The Fifth Column podcast, joins The Federalist Radio Hour to discuss his recent trip to Hong Kong and the ongoing pro-democracy protests.

“I think it’s fair to call Hong Kong a proto police state at this point,” Foster said. “Something has already changed so fundamentally that many, many people who are part of the pro-democracy movement are afraid to speak out publicly…or even to their friends on social media.”

Foster and Domenech discuss a number of topics including the tension Hong Kong police forces are facing, why Americans and media should care about what’s happening in Hong Kong, the death of Kobe Bryant, and the New York Time’s subjective view of history.
