To be very clear right up front, this is a list for lovers of lowbrow. While some of the later entries may pass for highbrow, that’s mostly a statement on Hollywood’s lackluster offerings in the lowbrow comedy department of late. (Unfortunately, there are profit motivations to explain this.)
In 2019, we’re forced to suffer through “Long Shot” and “Late Night,” when ten years ago, the yearly options were plentiful. It’s a shame, but thankfully we have the old classics to get us through this sad, sad drought.
