Tennis star Serena Williams penned a sweet note to her pre-born baby in an Instagram post on Monday.
Last week Williams revealed she is 20 weeks pregnant, which means she was close to two months along when she won the Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open in late January.
“My Dearest Baby, You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had,” Williams wrote, in reference to the match. “You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year. But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you.”
Last week, comedian Trevor Noah quipped that the tennis champ “cheated” during the Australian Open because she had another human helping her out.
So Serena cheated. Because that's technically a doubles match.🙌🏽 https://t.co/gkyBYlcHtQ

Noah is right: Like all pregnant mothers, Serena is carrying a baby. Not a clump of cells, not just a fetus, but a human child, whom she cherishes and loves.
