This Valentine’s Day The Steamiest Relationship Is Between The Democratic Party And The Far-Left

A poem for the 2020 Democratic field: Roses are reds, violets are blue. The Democrats love taxes, and far-left policies too.

Roses are reds, violets are blue. The Democrats love taxes, and far-left policy ideas too.

In the 2020 Democratic field, this poem perfectly encapsulates the radical shift in the party’s policies. From “Medicare for All” to unrestricted access to abortions, the Democrats have let their once “big tent” party and semi-moderate stances to become a full-blown socialist wonderland.

My advice this Valentine’s Day: find someone who loves you like Democrats love these five far-left plans:

1. Devotion to “Medicare for All”

Whether it’s Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., calling for “Medicare for All,” or former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg calling for “Medicare for all who want it,” these plans have one goal in mind: eliminating choice and private health insurance.

If you’re waiting on true love, the wait will be even longer with any Democrat-proposed “Medicare for All” bill. Socialized medicine will inevitably lead to longer wait lines for necessary care.

Ever been cat-fished on a dating app? “Medicare for all who want it” is the cat-fish of the Medicare world. It looks good online, but truth is the long-term goal is an ugly mess: a socialized medicine system.

2. Love for Unfettered Abortion

Democrats were once purveyors of the mantra, “Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare.” In 2012, the party removed the word rare, and replaced their position to “safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay.” Now they believe abortion should not just be accessible, but taxpayer-funded.

To many Democrats, an abortion is nothing more than a break-up between a mother and a “clump of cells.” Whether it be in the first or third trimester, Democrats don’t care about the pain and heartbreak of an abortion, just that a woman gets to choose whether or not to end things. Last January, Virginia Democratic delegate Kathy Tran presented a bill in the Virginia’s House of Delegates that would legalize abortion up to birth. When pressed, she even advocated for a woman’s right to end a pregnancy even up until the moment she goes into labor.

In the Democrats’ unfettered abortion utopia, doctors are not required to provide care for a baby who survived a botched abortion, and is alive and breathing. Just this week, Senate Republicans urged their colleagues to pass the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act. “Why should one baby down the hall be given care while another is left to die?” asked Sen. Joni Ernst. Democrats in the room would not answer the question.

3. Infatuation with Identity Politics

Let’s play a game of Valentine’s Day bingo.

Are you racially diverse? An immigrant? A member of the LGBT community? Non-Christian? A woman? BINGO! Congratulations, you won a free ticket to victimhood status. According to the identity politics game of Democrats, if you fall under any of these categories you are considered an “oppressed” group. But if you fall under multiple categories, you are from an even more “oppressed” group and your voice, ideas, and thoughts matter more than someone who falls under none or fewer categories.

The Left has an infatuation with identity politics and beholds this odd, obsessive standard in their 2020 campaign strategies. For instance, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., vowed to have a “young trans person” vet her Secretary of Education. Why? Because a young trans person is oppressed according to the identity politics spectrum. Therefore, their voice is more important than say, someone with experience in the related field.

4. Lust for Making Everything Free

Democrats have a lavish plan to give Americans free healthcare, free child care, free college, and don’t forget, a plan to give everyone a free government job whether or not they’re qualified for it.

One of the most radical candidate, Warren, is proposing new spending and loan forgiveness that would cost $4.2 trillion per year. Not to mention her health care plan costs $52 trillion in itself. The truth is — love ain’t free and neither is college, child care, or healthcare.

5. Affection for Unsuccessful Models of Socialism

If you think your significant other is cheating on you, if they’re anything like the United States Democratic Party, they probably are. The Democratic Party and its 2020 frontrunners have been cheating on Americans for a long time. Instead of championing capitalist policies that generate human prosperity, Democrats are championing socialist dictators like Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela.

2020 frontrunner Sanders not only championed Maduro, there’s also a video of him speaking highly of Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Daniel Ortega’s Sandinista movement in Nicaragua. He’s not the only one, New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also refuses to denounce Maduro and blames American interventionism for the problems of Venezuela.

“I am myself, just like anyone else who is absolutely concerned with the humanitarian crises that’s happening and I think it’s important that any solution that we have centers the Venezuelan people and centers the democracy of Venezuelan people first,” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said. “I am very concerned about U.S. interventionism in Venezuela, and I oppose it.”

If you consider yourself a pro-life Democrat, moderate Democrat, or a nearly extinct Blue Dog Democrat, it’s time to wake up and see your party is just not that into you. No one should try to change everything about you, they should love you for who you are. But, progressives like Sanders, Warren, or Ocasio-Cortez just can’t help their revolutionary passion to champion unsuccessful models of socialism.

It’s okay, you’ll get over them.
