I am so deeply saddened for our country. My head hurts from crying for the last 72 hours. Crying for those who feel less loved, who feel less important because of what has happened this week. It is a devastating turn, a giant leap backwards.
For the men and women of color who have been told their lives don’t matter. For the LGBTQ community whose safety is at risk. For the women who have worked harder, better, stronger than men, and have been told none of it matters and that sexual assault is a virtue to be rewarded. For my Muslim friends whose religion and background makes them targets in this country. I want you to know I am your ally. I will walk with you. I will fight for you. I will push back the darkness with you and try to know your fear even if my privilege prevents a perfect understanding. Most importantly, I will love you.
I pledge to love harder. I pledge to teach my children love. I pledge that love will still Trump HATE. HATE HATE HATE. I HATE EVERYONE WHO DID THIS AND YOU WILL BE CALLED TO ACCOUNT. YOU ARE MY ENEMY AND YOU SHALL BE BURNED BY THE RIGHTEOUS FIRE OF OUR RAGE AND I WILL LOVE WATCHING IT BECAUSE I HATE YOU AND EVERY THOUGHT YOU’VE EVER HAD, YOU RACIST, BIGOTED, DISGUSTING PIECE OF DOGSH*T THAT I HATE.
YOU ARE LOWER THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED AND I WILL BANISH THE THOUGHT OR SIGHT OF YOU FROM MY LIFE AND SOCIAL MEDIA FEEDS FOREVER LEST INTERACTING WITH ANYONE WHO DISAGREED WITH ME TUESDAY MAKE ME COMPLICIT IN THEIR HATE.
