When the accomplice media tell you that there is such a thing as a “moderate” wing of the Democratic Party, remember what the Democratic National Committee did on August 15, 2026. And remember that November’s midterm elections come down to the sane versus the insane on the ballot.
In an effort to offer voters varying degrees of insanity, the DNC on Saturday staked out two positions on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement: A resolution seeking to abolish ICE, and another looking to gut it. Each measure passed unanimously by voice vote during the committee’s summer meeting in Austin, Texas.
So much for “the establishment.”
The DNC Resolutions Committee advanced the motion (25-12) late last week urging “Democratic members of Congress to craft legislation abolishing ICE and enacting immigration reform that provides pathways to citizenship, protects workers, and ensures dignity for all impacted people,” according to Common Dreams, a left-wing nonprofit “news” organization founded by Dem operative Craig Brown.
In a lame attempt to soften the abolishment proposal, the Resolutions Committee backed a separate advisory resolution calling for “concrete reforms” to ICE.
Neither resolution is binding. The final DNC platform will be set at the 2028 Democratic National Committee Convention in August 2028, in a leftist-led city yet to be selected.
The committee’s Republican counterparts lambasted the Democrats’ ICE resolutions, calling them dangerous and an abandonment of the rule of law.
“Democrats made it official: they care more about protecting violent illegal aliens than American families,” Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters said in a statement on Saturday. “While President Trump and Republicans are securing our border and standing with law enforcement, Democrats want to let dangerous illegal criminals run wild in our communities. This resolution is political suicide, and Democrats will pay for choosing open borders over public safety, border security, and backing the blue.”
‘The Results Are Clear’
The Trump administration has come a long way in accomplishing what the president promised to do on the campaign trail. After a conservative 11 million illegal aliens flooded into the United States during President Joe Biden’s disastrous tenure in office, Trump’s Department of Homeland Security has secured the Southwest border.
On Thursday, DHS reported that it recorded a 15th straight month of zero releases at the border.
“Again this month, the results are clear: President Trump’s border security agenda is restoring order and putting the safety of the American people first,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin, said in a press release.
Public safety begins at the border.
As of July, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported drug seizures were 54 percent higher over the current fiscal year than under Biden during the same period of his presidency. Agents seized 1,054 pounds of fentanyl, and nearly 80 pounds of heroin at the border, DHS reported.
Taking Care of Business
Corporate media outlets are loathe to give credit to Trump’s immigration enforcement policies for cutting crime, particularly drug crimes and homicides, and for corresponding declines in drug overdoses.
“The pandemic spike was associated with social isolation and difficulties accessing addiction treatment,” the Associated Press reported in May, citing government data showing a 14 percent decline in drug deaths in 2025.
AP couldn’t bring itself to note a fact that should be clear: Biden’s open border policies allowed a wave of cartel-funded drug pushers in to pump their poison at greater rates than during his predecessor’s tenure. Biden’s successor — the same president as his predecessor — is keeping drug runners out.
NPR earlier this year audaciously reported that “Biden made big gains battling street fentanyl but lost the messaging war to Trump.”
Trump put a big target on the backs of drug cartels, designating them as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists, which is disrupting the supply chain of fentanyl and other drugs. He designated illicit fentanyl and its precursors as Weapons of Mass Destruction, “treating this poison with the full force of national security tools.” And he imposed tariffs targeting China and Mexico in particular, a move that forced Beijing to tighten controls on 13 key precursor chemicals.
And the administration has rounded up and deported some of the worst international drug pushers on earth.
On Friday, the FBI released its official crime data for the first half of 2026, showing the U.S. homicide rate last year fell to its lowest level in history of the recorded data.
And ICE continued to take violent illegal aliens off the streets in July, arresting 51,000 violent criminals last month, the highest number recorded by the Trump administration.
But securing the border and enforcing U.S. immigration laws just can’t have anything to do with plummeting crime rates, the useful idiots in corporate media insist. Admitting so would hurt their preferred political party’s chances in November’s elections.
‘Democrats Should be Thanking ICE’
Now a Democratic Party that has been commandeered by the radical left wants to abolish ICE. They can’t pretend they don’t want to do that any longer. They just passed a resolution spelling out their intentions.
“Instead of trying to abolish ICE, Democrats should be thanking ICE law enforcement officers for putting their lives on the line to arrest and remove murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and gang members from American communities,” the White House said in statement.
“Many of these criminals were released from jails by Democrat radical politicians. President Trump’s efforts to remove criminal illegal aliens from American communities is already delivering results including the lowest murder rate in 125 years.”
