John Fetterman Defends Democrats Counting Invalid Ballots In PA Senate Race

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman defended some Democratic officials’ decision to count invalid ballots in a bid to rig the outcome of the Senate race between Democrat incumbent Bob Casey and Republican David McCormick.

Democrats on the Bucks County Board of Commissioners voted Thursday to count misdated and undated ballots despite the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling those ballots are invalid under state law. One of the Democrats, Diane Ellis-Marseglia, admitted that approving the count of such ballots violates the law but that she would vote to count them nonetheless.

“People violate laws anytime they want,” Ellis-Marseglia said. “For me if I violate this law, it’s because I want a court to pay attention to it.”

Fetterman defended Democrats’ attempt to rig the election when asked by CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”

“I think you just pointed out that it refers to 115 ballots, and that’s not gonna have an impact on this race at this point. So what’s — where we are now: It’s very, very close and I guarantee you if Dave McCormick were in the opposite situation where he was down 15 to 17,000 votes, he would absolutely want to have every last vote counted as well, too,” Fetterman said. “We’re going to count every last vote.”

Fetterman further claimed that if the recount shows Casey coming up short, Casey will likely do the “right thing” and concede — but that’s where Fetterman gets it wrong. The race has been called for McCormick by The Associated Press, and even The Washington Post’s Editorial Board chastised Democrats for their attempt to rig the election. And yet Casey still won’t concede. Instead he’s enlisted election fixer Marc Elias to help him rig the race.

Notably, Elias managed to drag out the 2008 Minnesota Senate race recount for months before eventually finding a judge that approved the counting of questionable provisional ballots. Democrat Al Franken, who was initially losing, miraculously won by just 312 votes months after the election, and now Casey is hoping Elias’ dirty tricks work again.

The truth is, Democrats are trying to rig this election, and no one in their party cares because they never cared about election integrity to begin with. For years they pretended to be the defenders of fair elections, but it was nothing more than a facade. Democrats’ only concern is denying Republicans an electoral victory, no matter how fraudulent the methods.
