Americans are revolting against President Joe Biden and his partisan allies who have done nothing but encourage millions of illegal border crossers to pour into even the smallest U.S. communities.
The Biden White House insists what’s happening at the U.S. Southern border is “not a crisis.” But recent border arrest numbers and a steady stream of shocking footage of illegal border-crossers pouring into border communities suggest otherwise.
The record-breaking number of illegal immigrants crossing the border, incentivized by Biden administration policies, has become so unbearable that local officials like the San Diego County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to declare the border chaos a “humanitarian crisis” due to the “federal government’s lack of sufficient resources to manage this influx of asylum-seeking migrants.”
In two short weeks, more than 7,800 illegal immigrants were “dropped at transit stations in San Diego County.” This flood of people, paired with the Biden administration’s religious adherence to Obama-era catch-and-release policies, is “leaving local communities grappling with an increasingly untenable situation,” supervisor Jim Desmond wrote in his Tuesday announcement.
“The burden of caring for these asylum seekers has been unfairly shifted to local governments, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and community members,” Desmond said.
Mayor Rolando Salinas Jr. of Eagle Pass, Texas, similarly declared a local state of disaster on Sept. 19 in an attempt to get aid to deal with the thousands of illegal border crossers daily flooding into his town, population 28,000.
But the crisis at the border isn’t just affecting California, Texas, and other border states. The problem is now national.
The same day Eagle Pass declared an emergency, Staten Islanders nearly 2,000 miles away in New York amassed outside of a senior living facility to protest the displacement of more than 100 elderly and disabled residents. People like 95-year-old Frank Tammaro, a Korean War veteran, were forced from their homes after New York City decided to transform their community into a taxpayer-funded shelter for illegal border-crossers.
“I said ‘no, no, no, no, you’re not moving me,’ and they said ‘yes, yes, yes, we are,” said at a press conference hosted by Rep. Nicole Malliotakis. “And everything was done behind closed doors. We didn’t have a chance to actually make any attempt to stop them because there wasn’t enough time.”

Despite the genuine crisis facing New York City, with as many as 10,000 illegal immigrants arriving each month, the city’s political leaders refuse to face reality, falsely claiming the protesters are a fringe minority. “We cannot allow the numerical minority that’s shown an ugly display of how we deal with the crisis to be used as an example of what New Yorkers are doing,” Mayor Eric Adams told NY1 the day after the protests.
Contrary to Adams’ claims, the people frustrated by the invasion are not a “numerical minority.”
Pew Research poll results published in June found that 73 percent of those surveyed think the Biden administration is doing a bad job at handling the U.S.-Mexico border. An even higher number, 94 percent, said illegal border crossings are a problem for the country.
But illegal border crossings aren’t the only problem. A collapsing border, ignored and even exacerbated by the people in charge, actively enriches American adversaries like Mexican cartels, which have leveraged the catastrophe to fund their multibillion-dollar migrant and drug smuggling industries.
The connection between illegal immigration and deadly illicit drugs pouring into the country isn’t theoretical. Mere days after police sided with illegal immigrants in NYC, the Big Apple’s Health Commissioner Ashwin Vasan officially urged all residents to carry an emergency dose of naloxone, an over-the-counter drug commonly used to treat opioid overdoses.
“This crisis is killing a New Yorker every three hours and is impacting every individual and family in our city and in our nation,” Vasan said in a statement. “No one is spared, even if you think otherwise.”
NYC alone saw a 12 percent increase in overdose demise between 2021 and 2022. The 3,026 deaths recorded last year were the highest number “since reporting began in 2000.”
Overall, nearly 108,000 people died of drug overdoses in the U.S. in 2021. Data indicates that at least 68 percent of the more than 107,000 drug overdose deaths recorded in 2022 were due to synthetic opioids, most of which are “illicitly manufactured fentanyls,” which China manufactures and pays Mexican cartels to traffic across the U.S. border. The same criminal organizations that profit off bringing fentanyl across the border also profit from bringing migrants, every one of whom pays to cross the Rio Grande.
In that way, every single government official who aids and abets this invasion is tacitly endorsing the suffering and death that come with an open border. The police, mayors, and president who continue to accommodate illegal border-crossers are actively choosing criminals and cartels over their own constituents and countrymen, the people they swore to represent and protect.
The silver lining is that a growing number of Americans and elected officials are standing up to the illegal migration apologists running the country, even if it means risking their partisan relationships. Unfortunately, the border crisis is already in every American community. Unless every city and state in the U.S. agrees to fend off the forced entry of illegal border-crossers and the cartels that brought them here, the crisis will continue.
