The same corporate media organizations that bashed former President Donald Trump for claiming “without evidence” that every American would have access to the COVID-19 vaccine in April are now praising President Joe Biden for meeting that exact vaccine deadline.
In 2020, corrupt news outlets such as CNN, the Washington Post, NPR, and others ran headlines accusing Trump of making misleading claims about the COVID vaccine infamously shrouded with the phrase “without evidence” and paired with comments from so-called “experts” who did not believe the Republican’s predictions would come to fruition.
“Trump says every American can get a coronavirus vaccine by April, but health experts say that’s not likely,” CNN wrote.

CNBC was also careful to note in its article that “Trump’s forecast is at odds with the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
“CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield said earlier this week that the U.S. wouldn’t start vaccinating people until November or December at the earliest and the doses would be limited at first,” the article stated in fine print at the top of the webpage. “Redfield initially said a vaccine wouldn’t be widely available until the summer or early fall of next year before walking those comments back after Trump said Redfield was mistaken.”
NBC News amplified the incoming Biden administration’s agenda by simply quoting “Biden advisers” who said Trump’s “mass vaccine timeline may be too optimistic.”
When the White House announced that all U.S. adults would become eligible for the vaccine by the end of April because Biden moved the deadline for states to do so, however, the corporate media bypassed the skepticism they once held to begin running headlines and articles echoing the president’s optimism.
“Biden makes all adults eligible for a vaccine on April 19,” the Associated Press reported.
“Biden moves deadline for all US adults to be eligible for Covid vaccine to April 19,” CNN stated.
On Monday, the more-than-slanted coverage continued when many of the same partisan outlets that denied Trump’s claims were happy to report that “All U.S. adults now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine, meeting Biden’s April 19 deadline.”

This isn’t the first time the corporate media failed in their attempts to fact-check Trump. Last year, journalists, so-called experts, and verified Twitter users cast doubt on Trump’s Operation Warp Speed and its ability to create a vaccine by the end of the year.
The administration’s campaign to get vaccines to states before 2021 was not only largely written off in news stories and on broadcasts as “preposterous” and “impossible,” but also regularly mocked by pundits and questioned by Dr. Anthony Fauci.
