On ABC’s “The View” Wednesday morning, longtime co-host Whoopi Goldberg implored Americans not to use labels like “Chinese” when discussing the Wuhan coronavirus that originated in China.
“We need to stop calling it, or labeling it, like it’s [China] did it to us,” Goldberg said. “Mother Nature really did it to us.”

On the contrary, it was not Mother Nature who silenced and threatened doctors, or ordered Chinese scientists to stop tests and destroy samples upon discovering the pathogen in December.
Goldberg continued to cover for China by questioning the veracity of President Donald Trump’s statement that Chinese officials are blaming the U.S. military for bringing the virus to the Wuhan region of China.
“Clearly [Trump] is trying to pin the blame on China, but I don’t recall hearing China say the military gave it to them,” she said.
Whoopi said she doesn't recall China saying the U.S. brought the Wuhan virus to Wuhan.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman literally tweeted "It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan"

In fact, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lijian Zhao shared a video on Twitter last week of a congressional hearing with the director for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Lijian said the “CDC was caught on the spot,” and said, “It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan.”
2/2 CDC was caught on the spot. When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation! pic.twitter.com/vYNZRFPWo3

He also tweeted out additional Chinese propaganda, linking to an article claiming, “Further Evidence that the Virus Originated in the US.”

Despite the fact that China’s attempts at distancing themselves from the virus have been widely covered, Goldberg claimed ignorance and then concluded Trump “makes things up.”
“That’s why I said if it’s true,” co-host Sunny Hostin agreed in speculation.
