Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chairman Michael Blake tried to derail a Fox News segment by questioning the legitimacy of Tucker Carlson’s employment at Fox News. The segment took place during Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom” with host Bill Hemmer.

At the beginning of the segment, a clip of Carlson ran. In it, Carlson predicted Michelle Obama would jump into the 2020 race at the last second. Hemmer asked Blake whether he thought that was likely. Blake changed the subject to question the legitimacy of Fox News and Carlson’s employment.

“What do you think of the prediction of Michelle Obama? Would you like to see that?” Hemmer asked.

“Well, she’s not running, but the core question is why the h-ll does Tucker Carlson still have a job here in the first place? The reality is, this is someone who said white supremacy is a hoax, and why does Fox allow him to still be here in the first place?” Blake said.

Hemmer continued to press Blake about whether Michelle Obama would jump into the race.

“It’s not gonna happen,” Blake responded, sidelining Hemmer’s questions again. “But I think the core question is, he shouldn’t be on here at all.”

“We got it. We didn’t bring you on to talk about Tucker Carlson, I brought you on to talk about the Democratic field,” Hemmer responded.

This would have been a perfect time for the DNC vice chairman to make a pitch for Democrats to the large audience of Fox News viewers. Instead, Blake decided it would be better to derail the segment, all for the sake of what? Calling Carlson a white supremacist.

Regardless of anyone’s views on Carlson, this man was not brought on television to discuss Carlson. He was brought on to talk about the Democratic field. Ultimately, by ignoring the host’s questions and derailing the segment, Blake embarassed the DNC and displayed extreme rudeness to his Fox hosts.

This served no purpose for the Fox News audience and helped the DNC in no way. This only reinstated the idea that Democrats are hell-bent on name-calling anybody who disagrees with them ideologically.

The best part? Blake is fundraising off of this interaction for his congressional bid in New York’s 15th district. He’s pushing this clip on social media as a way to attract national attention to his campaign.

Blake is running in a district that has a partisan voting index of +44 in favor of Democrats. This district is not anywhere close to swinging red. Not only was derailing a Fox News segment unnecessary, but doing it to push his own congressional candidacy shows how low progressive Democrats will stoop to win power.
