From the red carpet of an awards show in Santa Monica, California on Sunday night, character actor James Cromwell said there will be “blood in the streets” if Democrats don’t stop President Trump by taking back the majority in the House and Senate.

Cromwell, who played Farmer Hoggett in “Babe,” told Variety the United States’s institutions are on the verge of becoming “pure fascism.”

“This is nascent fascism. We always had a turnkey totalitarian state — all we needed was an excuse, and all the institutions were in place to turn this into pure fascism,” he said. “If we don’t stop [President Trump] now, then we will have a revolution for real. Then there will be blood in the streets.”

This isn’t the first time Cromwell has called for Hollywood to get radical. Breitbart reports that he spent a weekend in jail after protesting Sea World’s orca show.

In what was his first interview after his release, Cromwell urged other Hollywood actors and actresses to step up there political activism. ‘This community has got to get more engaged,’ he told the Daily Mail. ‘This community has got to get more political. More than our survival as an industry, our appropriateness is at stake. What’s really at stake is our humanity and all sentient life.’

In a video produced for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Cromwell also urged people to go vegan, because eating meat promotes violence — against animals.
