Robby Soave, editor at Reason Magazine, joins Mary Katharine Ham on Federalist Radio to discuss the latest unbelievable stories happening on college campuses and the attacks against free speech at Berkeley. Soave and Ham also debate the approaching onslaught of fall and Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

This week student groups were triggered upon seeing a banana peel that someone had throwin in a tree on campus. “It’s fascinating to hear the language of the aggrieved students here… it’s the language of pain and suffering and harm,” Soave said. “They’re responding as if… they went through some really disturbing trauma when it just wasn’t that.”

When does Pumpkin-spiced marketing become too much? “Let them have their pumpkin spice lattes. They’re not bothering you,” Soave said. “You have ‘basic’ on one side and you have ‘woke’ on the other. Either you’re enjoying the regular things of life or you understand the structural privilege of why you like these things.”
