Here’s How The Media Are Lying Right Now: NY Times Writer Claims Dems Don’t Use Violent Rhetoric

It takes a certain type of brass to acknowledge that, just a few days ago, a Democrat tried (again) to kill the president of the United States and then immediately deny that the leaders of that party have been speaking in heavily violent terms of late. But that’s exactly what New York Times content creator Jamelle Bouie just did.

In a column for the paper last week, Bouie argued in earnest that even though left-wingers keep acting out with political violence, reckless rhetoric is only something we’re seeing among Republicans, with nothing to speak of among Democrats.

“To start, even the most heated language coming from Democrats over the past few years falls well within the boundaries of ordinary political discourse in the United States,” he wrote. “No elected Democratic leader has called for violence against Trump or his allies. All have condemned such violence when it has taken place. And you would be hard-pressed to find anything different among Democratic Party officials and liberal activists.”

By “hard-pressed,” Bouie apparently meant “trying to remember the very recent past.” It’s not that hard, Jamelle! You can do it if you try!

That laughable claim can’t go unanswered, so here is a very much not-comprehensive list of the murderous things prominent Democrats have said of late:

Just last month, Kirk Bangstad, a Democrat running for governor in Wisconsin, promoted his brewery with a macabre joke about the poor “marksmanship” of Cole Allen, the man who allegedly intended to shoot up the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, where Trump was the headliner.

In August last year, Abdul El-Sayed, a Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, said of Republicans, “We take them to the mud and choke them out.”

That same month, Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin said, “I’m sick and tired of this Democratic Party bringing a pencil to a knife fight,” and, “We cannot be the only party that plays by the rules anymore.” (Ah, yes. The members of the party that spent the past three years trying to imprison their political opposition — when they weren’t engaged in assassination plots — are tired of being the only ones to play by the rules.)

In 2018, during President Trump’s first term, current Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner mused on the internet that voters can’t “expect to fight fascism without a good semi-automatic rifle.”

Text messages from 2022 sent by Virginia’s recently elected Attorney General Jay Jones revealed the Democrat wishing harm on former state House Speaker Todd Gilbert and on Gilbert’s children. “Gilbert gets two bullets to the head,” Jay said in one message. “Yes, I’ve told you this before. Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy,” he wrote in another message. “I mean do I think Todd and Jennifer [Gilbert’s wife] are evil? And that they’re breeding little fascists? Yes.”

In January of this year, Elliot Forhan, a Democrat running for attorney general in Ohio, posted a video on social media explaining how he would “kill Donald Trump.” He said as attorney general, he would do it with a criminal prosecution, “with the requirements of due process, resulting in a sentence, duly executed, of capital punishment.”

The next month, Democrat House Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota referred to Trump as “the leader of the Pedophile Protection Party” and said, “At least in Somalia they execute pedophiles not elect them.”

It’s a sick, violent, and dangerous political party. And the media lie on its behalf all the time.
