Breaking News Alert Arizona Voters Elect Staunch Conservative To Replace Maricopa County's Leftist-Friendly Elections Chief

How To Tell If The ‘Nonpartisan’ School Board Candidates On Your Ballot Are Radical Democrats

If you want to transform schools, pay attention to who is running for your local school board race and question those candidates’ real views.

Radical Democrats have controlled government schools for decades. Most voters show up to the polls with no idea their school board members are on the ballot. Since many local elections don’t permit a partisan designation to be displayed on the ballot for these races, a conservative voter could unknowingly vote for a radical Democrat.

School boards control which individuals are hired as a superintendent — say, Marxist activists — what curriculum will be taught in classrooms (DEI and obscene sex-ed, anyone?), and how your tax dollars are spent.

If you want to transform schools and save education, pay attention to who is running for your local school board race and question those candidates’ real views. Follow the money on donations to candidates rather than just listening to soundbites.

Fortunately, a number of conservative organizations are making this easier for parents by vetting and endorsing school board top-notch candidates: Moms for America, Moms for Liberty, Ivoterguide.com, and 1776 Project PAC.

Don’t assume that just because you live in a “red” area your school board shares your values.

The historically red city of Virginia Beach, where I have served on the local school board for eight years, has the fourth-largest school district in the state and has been dominated by Democrats for years. That could change this year, with many great conservatives running for the district’s six seats up for election in November. But that’s only possible when parents and grassroots conservative groups work to recruit high-quality candidates.

In states where school board races are technically non-partisan — meaning the candidates don’t display their party affiliation on the ballot — there are usually “tells” that give away their views. Here’s a hint: If a candidate is endorsed by the teachers’ union, they are always left-wing Democrats.

Local parties will often endorse “non-partisan” candidates. In Virginia Beach, for example, the Democrat-endorsed candidates are uniformly radical. At a recent forum, a discussion about “gun violence” led several of the Democrat school board candidates to publicly “boo” and “thumbs down” the Second Amendment.

If you’re a parent concerned about school safety, ask yourself: Will these same candidates vote for or against armed security in schools?

Look for “social justice” cues. Ex-Virginia Beach School Board Member Sharon Felton, who’s running this year after losing her last election, said in a forum that she wants to ensure students can’t get expelled from schools for anything.

Sound odd? This extreme “social justice” policy allows violent students to remain in school. Last year, in a neighboring school district, a six-year-old boy shot his teacher. He had prior discipline problems, but the school refused to expel him and it nearly cost a teacher’s life.

Then there’s the “book-banning” angle. Jordyne Blaise is a “diversity, equity, and inclusion” expert running for North Carolina’s Wake County School Board. Blaise claims that books are being banned in schools by racists because they feature people of color and LGBT characters. What she fails to reveal is the books in question have graphic, sexually explicit content that would be placed in the X-rated section of any bookstore.

To the radical left, shielding small children from pornography is bigotry. People who want to provide sexually explicit materials to children should be labeled as groomers, not elected to school boards.

Communists target children first. Controlling the education of young minds will change a nation to become whatever those in control decide. Do you want Marxist Democrats in control of school board to teach the future leaders of our nation, or do you want conservatives who want to teach children how to think, not what to think? Look closely at who is running for school board in your county or city and choose wisely.
