Secret Service took down an armed person near the fence outside the White House early Monday evening.

According to The Post Millennial, Secret Service “whisked” President Donald Trump away from his White House press briefing to the Oval Office. He returned about nine minutes later and confirmed there was a shooting.

“There was a shooting outside of the White House and it seems to be very well under control. I’d like to thank the Secret Service for doing their always quick and very effective work,” Trump said.

Sources from inside the the press briefing reported that the president said an armed suspect was shot and was being transported to the hospital.

“There was an actual shooting and somebody has been taken to the hospital. I don’t know the condition of the person,” the president said. “Seems that the person was shot by the Secret Service. It’s unfortunate that this is the world, but the world has always been a dangerous place.”

When asked whether he was rattled, Trump responded with, “Do I look rattled?”

“I didn’t even think about not coming back” to the press briefing, the president said.

According to Fox News, the president praised Secret Service for taking down the armed suspect.

“I have such confidence in these people,” Trump said. “They’re so good.”
