Fitness and health expert Jillian Michaels faced an onslaught of backlash in the new year for questioning why people are celebrating pop-star Lizzo’s body instead of her music.
“But, why are we celebrating her body? Why does it matter? That’s what I’m saying. Like, why aren’t we celebrating her music? ‘Cause, it isn’t going to be awesome if she gets diabetes. I’m just being honest,” said Michaels on Buzzfeed’s “AM To DM” morning show.
Oddly enough, another self-proclaimed health expert and 2020 Democratic candidate Mike Bloomberg has been frank in expressing concern for public heath, obesity, and diabetes. As former mayor of New York City, Bloomberg led a crusade against super-sized sugary drinks, citing his concerns of rising rates of diabetes and heart disease among the city’s most impoverished citizens.
