In a televised press conference outside of the Manhattan federal court, Deputy U.S. Attorney Robert Khuzami said Cohen admitted he made an illegal campaign contribution on Oct. 27, 2016 “in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office.” He did not identify the candidate by name.
