David Azerrad joins Ben Domenech on this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour. They examine the state of identity politics, the fault lines in both political parties, and Azerrad’s academic approach to progressive and liberal political thought.
“Many people on the left think the alternative to identity politics is unfettered racism. That the only way to protect the rights of women and minorities…is identity politics,” he said. “And there has to be a more sane and sensible alternative to emerge…the Right can try to do it but ultimately it’s going to have to come from the Left.”
Azerrad is the Director, B. Kenneth Simon Center for Principles and Politics and AWC Family Foundation Fellow at the Heritage Foundation.
