Republican candidate Donald Trump just won the election to become the 45th president of the United States.
In his victory speech early Wednesday morning, Trump confirmed that Hillary Clinton conceded her bid for the White House over the phone, making Trump the president-elect until he is inaugurated in January.

At the time of publication, The New York Times reported that Donald Trump garnered 279 electoral votes, while Clinton earned 218.
