“The reason that Democrats are failing is precisely because they have confused branding with governing. And what they’re experiencing now is a crisis of purpose. For the past decade, they have relied on the anti-Trump rhetoric and the political posturing about how bad Donald Trump is while distracting from the fact that they have no real solutions to the many problems Americans face every day,” The Federalist’s Brianna Lyman said on Fox News at Night. “And the reason [Democrats] have no unifying message is because they have no unifying principles. Their entire party in the past decade is a bunch of special interest coalitions that are bound together by fear of the other side. The problem is that fear of the other side, that fear-mongering, no longer works. People are realizing that Donald Trump [and] Republicans aren’t actually scary — they deliver results and competency.”
