“I’ve noticed in the last few years, they get mad when you use ‘republic’ because they are actually quite majoritarian now that they think they have the upper hand,” Federalist Senior Editor David Harsanyi said on “The Buck Sexton Show.” “They want to get rid of the electoral college. They want to get rid of the filibuster. They don’t like the idea of two Senate seats for each state and stuff like that. So they want a direct democracy that’s very centralized and very powerful. So I think it’s about time that people start calling it a republic, which we are, and not a democracy, which means a lot of things.”
