As an adult who teaches, I got to choose an open school. Union politics have now barred millions of families from a similar privilege.
The idea that bars should remain open yet schools remain closed runs counter to any sense of logic, not to mention good public policy.
‘Instead of utilizing resources we have to find ways to safely reopen our schools, there is a contingent of people looking for ways to close our schools,’ says U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil.
Most schools around the country have not truly reopened, and many will continue offering virtual learning far into the school year.
‘The harm of not returning to school is greater than the risk of returning to school,’ a concerned California parent told The Federalist.
“I felt violated as a parent, for my child, who’s standing there with police officers in his room, just to see the fear on his face,” Courtney Lancaster said.
The current situation is far from ideal, but some influential people are now sensing a great opportunity to make online learning the norm. They shouldn’t.
