Veronique de Rugy is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. De Rugy joins Ben Domenech on this edition of The Federalist Radio Hour to discuss the growing economic impact of state-mandated lockdowns.
De Rugy believes that even with lockdowns lifted, Americans will still be too afraid of coronavirus to patronize businesses, leading to long term effects on national and global economic recovery.
“When we reopen, people are still going to be scared and they are not going to come out for good or bad reasons. Part of it is that we’ve really scared people out of their minds,” de Rugy said.
