Former Vice President Joe Biden forgot California Sen. Kamala Harris was on stage Wednesday night at the fifth Democratic primary debate in Atlanta when he claimed to be endorsed by the only African American woman ever elected to the Senate.

“Three former chairs of the [Congressional] Black Caucus” and “the only African American woman who’s ever been elected to the United States Senate” have endorsed his White House bid, Biden said when touting his support among African Americans.

“The other one is here!” Harris awkwardly chimed in with a laugh.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker was also quick to fact-check Biden in real time. “That’s not true.”

Biden’s latest gaffe is likely to stoke further doubts about the candidate’s age and ability to make it through the nomination and launch a successful challenge against President Donald Trump next fall.

Biden, who turned 77-years-old today, has already made a series of slip-ups, prompting concern over Biden’s sharpness to make it through the rest of a demanding campaign, let alone run the country for four years.

The Harris campaign wasted no time in mocking the former vice president on Twitter.

“Proud to be the second Black woman elected to the U.S. Senate. #DemDebate,” Harris tweeted.

Harris is the daughter of immigrants from Jamaica and India.
