This is a loud silence.
Go look at James Talarico’s X account, where his recent posts are all about Jimmy Kimmel:
He hasn’t posted on Sept. 11, and he hasn’t posted about 9/11. His campaign appears to be treating the day as a non-event. Here are the top news headlines about Talarico today:

Houston Public Media did an hour-long streaming show today that was about 9/11 until the last 15 minutes, when they pivoted to Donald Trump, and then Talarico and Jimmy Kimmel:
On YouTube, the Talarico campaign posted a new video late in the afternoon of Sept. 11. It focuses on topics like insulin costs:
His only comment for the day seems to be this one, posted on Instagram with a careful reference to “the lives lost.”

Never forget that some things happened, resulting in various losses of some kind. But mostly what Talarico is discussing on the 25th anniversary of 9/11 is … James Talarico. He doesn’t appear to have taken any detailed or real notice of that other thing, avoiding the substance of the topic entirely. The Federalist has asked his campaign for Talarico’s thoughts on 9/11, and will post the response if we get one.
Update: After publication Talarico’s campaign provided the following statement: “A generation of Americans has grown up knowing September 11 as history — a day that forever changed this country and the world. But for millions of Americans, September 11 was first a day that forever changed their communities, their families, and their lives. On this 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, I join them in remembering and honoring the loved ones senselessly taken from them.”
