Henry Nowak’s Murder Is The Logical Conclusion Of Black Lives Matter

Racial hierarchy is embedded in the logic of Black Lives Matter. What it looks like in practice is the murder of Henry Nowak.

Public outrage in Britain is rising after the release of harrowing police bodycam footage in the stabbing and subsequent arrest of Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old university student who was killed December 3, 2025 in Southampton, England, by a 23-year-old Sikh man named Vickrum Digwa.

The circumstances of Nowak’s murder almost defy belief. On their own, they would be enough to send Britain into a spiral of race riots and civil unrest — if Nowak had not been white, and if his killer had not been Indian. As it is, the murder of Henry Nowak will probably not trigger the kind of rioting that George Floyd’s death did in the United States. But it does perfectly illustrate the logic of Black Lives Matter: racial minorities are to be believed and preferred, white people are not — even in cases where whites are the victims of violent crimes.

Digwa stabbed Nowak five times with an 8-inch Sikh ceremonial blade, which is illegal for anyone but Sikhs to carry in Britain, including a fatal stab to the chest, as Nowak was walking home from a night out with his English football team. Instead of calling an ambulance, Digwa called the police while his mother helped him hide the murder weapon.

When police arrived on the scene, he lied, telling them Nowak had called him a racist slur, which is a crime in Britain, owing to that country’s lack of anything like a First Amendment. So the police arrested Nowak, not Digwa, even as Nowak pleaded for medical aid, saying he had been stabbed. He told the officers he couldn’t breathe. He said this nine times, and four times he told them he had been stabbed.

The police didn’t believe him. On the video footage, an officer replies, “You’ve been stabbed, mate? I don’t think you have.” Police then handcuffed Nowak and dragged him across a gravel driveway, reading him his rights as he bled out. Three minutes later, Nowak lost consciousness. He died not long after, at the scene.

Instead of helping the victim of a violent attack, the police automatically believed Digwa. Why? Because he’s a racial minority and Nowak was white. The presumption of guilt and innocence, as far as the police were concerned, was determined entirely on the basis of race. The white boy must be guilty, the Sikh man must be the victim.

It’s easy to fault Britain in this case. British society has been so corrupted by wokeness and race communism it has become something of a laughingstock among the nations. But the same dynamic is at work in the entire western world, not least of all here in the United States.

Indeed, what happened to Nowak is the logical endpoint of all western societies that choose to erect racial hierarchies and separate people into racial and ethnic identity groups. First, the state must create policies to manage relations between the various groups. Eventually, it sets them in preferential order, with whites always at the bottom and aggrieved racial minorities always at the top. This is true, in Britain’s case, even if the minorities in question are immigrants or new arrivals. They all take preference over native Britons.

What results is a two-tiered society. That phrase, “two-tiered,” has been getting a lot of use in Britain the last few years for the simple fact that everywhere you look you can see it in operation.

A post on X this week by Matthew Goodwin, a right-wing British author and commentator, underscored how egregious and offensive the two-tiered nature of British society has become. “This is what we have seen in the last two weeks alone: a gang of Afghans who entered the country illegally on small boats and lorries have been charged with 40 child sex offences: two Muslim men who visibly assaulted police officers have been let off from a further trial; a small boat migrant living in a taxpayer-funded hotel was found guilty of sexually assaulting two women outside nightclubs; an Islamist terrorist who plotted to blow up an army base is being released early.”

On and on it goes, including the recent case of a Muslim man who called for the beheading of Jews but was released on bail, while white Britons who complained about him were arrested for posting about it on social media.

This kind of thing has gotten out of hand in Britain, but the impulse to adopt racial preferences is actually an import to Britain from America. One of the odd and disturbing features of modern Britain is the extent to which they have adopted the racial narratives and in-group grievances of the American left — a paradigm wholly unsuited to British culture and history. America at least has a history of institutional racism and chattel slavery that the left can point to as a justification for diving the country along racial lines. Britain has no such history, yet its leaders have decided to adopt this narrative with all its deleterious consequences in the misguided belief that the only way to be righteous is to be like the American left.

The result is a country whose political leaders and institutions are openly at war with the ethnic majority. As I have previously written, that’s a recipe for civil war, which is probably coming to Britain sooner than we think. With each passing week, peaceful political solutions to Britain’s problems diminish, as it becomes clear that the ruling elite will not respond to the legitimate concerns of the native population. (As if to underscore this point, even after Nowak’s murder Britain’s ruling Labour Party has opposed calls to pass a law that would prohibit Sikhs from carrying the kind of long knife that Digwa used to kill Nowak.)

This is not just a problem for Britain, but for us in America as well. Anyone who witnessed the insanity of the BLM riots and our collective hysteria over the death of George Floyd in 2020 knows that many people on the political left, including people in positions of real power, want a society based on racial hierarchies and unequal treatment before the law. They all but openly declare it. The logic of racial preferences is embedded in their logic.

In Nowak’s brutal murder and callous mistreatment at the hands of police who were supposed to protect and aid him, we now know, in bone-chilling detail, exactly where that logic leads.
