Harris Invents 2020 Fracking Position To Hide Her Actual Views

Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris once championed aggressive leftist policies. She supported the Green New Deal while senator and has called for the prosecution of fossil fuel companies.

The pièce de résistance, however, was when she unequivocally threw her support behind a ban on fracking in 2019. But now that her radical climate agenda isn’t politically convenient, Harris invented a 2020 position on fracking to try and cover up her actual views.

During the 2019 Democrat primary, Harris was asked whether she would commit to a federal ban on fracking.

“There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking,” Harris said. “So yes.”

The then-senator even highlighted her long-standing “history” of attacking fracking.

But in recent weeks anonymous campaign staffers have leaked claims to the media that Harris has developed a newfound respect for the fracking industry — an obvious attempt to salvage her credibility after her radical anti-fracking stance was highlighted.

“No, and I made that clear on the debate stage in 2020, that I would not ban fracking. As vice president, I did not ban fracking. As president, I will not ban fracking,” Harris told Bash when asked if she’d ban fracking during CNN’s pre-recorded softball interview on Thursday night.

Dana Bash asked whether Harris’ stance “changed.”

“In 2020 I made very clear where I stand. We are in 2024, and I have not changed that position, nor will I going forward. I kept my word, and I will keep my word,” Harris said. “My values have not changed. I believe it is very important that we take seriously what we must do to guard against what is a clear crisis in terms of the climate. And to do that, we can do what we have accomplished thus far.”

But Harris was unable to explain why her policy position shifted when asked by Bash.

“Well, let’s be clear. My values have not changed. I believe it is very important that we take seriously what we must do to guard against what is a clear crisis in terms of the climate. And to do that, we can do what we have accomplished thus far,” Harris said.

Maybe it’s because her views really haven’t changed.

Despite her insistence, Harris never committed herself to preserving fracking during the 2020 general election. She did, however, have to run defense for her running mate Joe Biden, who previously vowed to “abolish fossil fuels” and end “fracking as soon as we possibly can.”

“Joe Biden will not end fracking. He has been very clear about that,” Harris said. “I will repeat and the American people know that Joe Biden will not ban fracking. That is a fact. That is a fact.”

While serving as California attorney general, Kamala Harris investigated Exxon Mobil for allegedly misleading the public about the risks of climate change. So who will prosecute Harris for misleading the public about her stance on fracking?
