Only 63 percent of U.S. adults reported being either “very proud” or “extremely proud” to be an American according to a new Gallup poll released Monday, marking a new low point in American pride since the pollster began surveying the question in 2001.

Monday’s figures show a sharp seven point decline since last year where only 70 percent said they were either “very proud” or “extremely proud” of their American heritage, the largest single year decrease recorded.

This year, 15 percent said they were “moderately proud,” 12 percent claimed they were “only a little proud,” and 9 percent reported being “not at all proud.”

According to Gallup, patriotic pride among white adults dropped below 50 percent for the first time, where 49 percent said they were extremely proud to be American compared to just 24 percent of nonwhite people.

The decline of American pride comes as a sea of crises keep the nation submerged in turmoil under a public health pandemic prompting strict lockdowns breaking a fractured economy, now compounded by the worst social unrest seen in decades over policing. American patriotism is likely to sink further as cultural leftists continue their efforts to rewrite U.S. history purging symbols of its past in the process in a new 21st century woke revolution.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump’s approval rating according to Gallup stands at 57 to 39 percent with most Americans disapproving of the way the president is handling his job.

The Gallup pride poll was conducted May 28 – June 4 interviewing 1,034 American adults in each state and the District of Columbia with a +/- 4 percent margin of error.
