Cenk Uygur, founder of the progressive YouTube channel The Young Turks, unleashed an angry meltdown on air during his Super Tuesday election night coverage.

As a longtime Bernie Bro, Uygur appeared flustered by Sen. Bernie Sanders’ poor performance on Tuesday, and upset by former Vice President Joe Biden’s 10-state sweep. But the feeling of loss was also personal for Uygur, who was crushed in his own Democratic primary race for California’s 25th District, the seat last held by former California Rep. Katie Hill. Uygur came in fourth place, with less than 5 percent of the vote.

According to Axios, Google recently invested “in the mid-six figures range” in Uygur’s left-wing outlet as part of the Google News Initiative. Uygur has been criticized for past offensive comments about women, Jews, and denials of the Armenian genocide. Sanders even retracted his endorsement of Uygur for the congressional race over the offensive comments.

In a complete meltdown, Uygur declared the 2020 race going forward was going to be “trench warfare,” and that the progressive base was “going to go to war” against the Democratic establishment.

“Biden lies nonstop! He’s going to get caught!” Uygur yelled. “You’re going to run that guy against Trump, and we’re going to lose to Trump again and maybe lose our democracy. Hell, no!”

Uygur can be seen tearing up before leaving Tuesday night’s show, saying he would skip The Young Turks’ segment discussing the California 25th District race. With Uygur off set, his co-hosts appeared awkward and stunned seeing the results of their colleague’s crushing defeat in the congressional primary race.

This is certainly not Uygur’s first meltdown. A time-lapse of The Young Turks’ election night coverage in 2016 will go down in history books, as the progressive hosts grew more angry and frantic watching votes roll in for President Donald Trump.

“I’m losing my mind tonight because of how stupid a majority of the country is,” said host Ana Kasparian.
