David Betancourt writes about comic book culture for the Washington Post. With the recent passing of Stan Lee, the Godfather of Marvel comics, Betancourt joins the Federalist Radio Hour with Ben Domenech to nerd out over Lee’s work and the future of the comic book entertainment industry.

“With Stan, what we saw was someone who cared about it just as much as we did and almost gave it justification for the passion that so many of us had for these characters and these comics growing up,” Betancourt said. “You cannot open a Marvel comic book without the first thing at the top saying, ‘Stan Lee Presents.'”

They also discuss superhero casting, the newest comic series, and potential trouble in entertainment with Disney’s merger with Fox.
