Stanley McChrystal served in the US Army for thirty-four years, becoming a four-star general, in command of all American and coalition forces in Afghanistan. He joins Ben Domenech on the Federalist Radio Hour for a conversation on leadership, the future of military service, and the removal of figures like Robert E. Lee. McChrystal’s new book is, “Leaders: Myth and Reality.”
“During the Cold War the United States had a fairly clear-eyed idea of what we wanted…ever since that period it’s less obvious what we want in the world,” he said. “We are less focused…When I was in Afghanistan it just seemed extremely murky.”
