Derek Thompson, senior editor at The Atlantic, talks with Ben Domenech about Facebook’s ability to monitor content, the addiction of social media, and the overlaps of technology and culture.

“The reason that newspapers publish the truth isn’t because they think the truth is the thing most likely to be read, but because they have an ethical obligation to screen out falseness,” Thompson said. “Facebook has no similar ethical obligation. It’s not a newspaper.”
