Kylie Jenner wished her dad a happy Father’s Day in a sweet Instagram post and the Internet totally freaked out. Many accused Kylie of being transphobic because the makeup mogul shared a pre-op, throwback photo of her father, formerly known as Bruce Jenner.

“So lucky to have you,” the 20-year-old reality star captioned the photo.

We do know that Kylie’s father is totally fine with being called “dad,” and has said so on a number of occasions. But that didn’t stop a lot of people from losing their minds.

Instagram user mala.vidaaWonder wrote: “if it bothers Caitlyn to still be called Dad even though she’s a transgender woman or to see old photos of who she use to be. Usually these are a big NO in transgender community.”

dogs_puppy_forever wrote: “Greet her on mothers day not fathers day duhh?!”

starlight_youngjojoWhy wrote: “not the recent pics of him? Too much?”

dancer.rinda@aaa.mber.marieee wrote: “no if my dad identified as a transgender woman, that would mean that my dad is now a female and my mother. Research what transgender means because you are obviously ignorant. Its disrespectful to address somebody who is transgender as the gender they don’t identify with. That would be like me addressing a male as a woman even though everyone knew they were Male. It’s wrong.”

This is not parody, this is real life. People are actually lecturing Kylie about her decision to identify her father as “dad.”

Others expressed sympathy for Kylie and her siblings.

It wouldn’t be normal for them to not feel some kind of resentment and sorrow. If they don’t then something is wrong. It’s going to take yrs of counciling to get their minds right.”

belle_maren wrote: “You guys are being super mean it’s still her dad no matter what change and she is a great daughter for supporting so stop it”

Three years ago, Kylie shared a post explaining that Caitlyn is cool with being called “dad.”

“No matter what I’m always going to be your father,” she captioned the Father’s Day post from 2015. “That’s never going to change.”
