Apple’s Siri Doesn’t Know That Bruce Jenner Is Still A Dude

In the Culture War, Siri decides whats true and false.

There are more on-ramps to the information superhighway than ever before. Each of us carries the practical sum of human knowledge in our front pocket thanks to smart phones.

Forgot who painted the Sistine Chapel? Ask Siri. Wondering who holds baseball’s home run record? Ask Siri. Looking for a place to eat? Ask Siri. Trying to get objective information about controversial issues? Eh, you might want to look that up yourself.

Apple’s knowledge navigator has started pushing opinion over legal and biological fact. And honestly, Steve Jobs’ leading lady is kind of catty about it.

Ask her a nuts and bolts question, and the smartphone assistant will reinterpret your question:

How Tall

Ask her for some mundane information, and she’ll correct you:

Real Name

Ask a question right out of a biology book, and Siri will conflate sex and gender:

Sure, science and the law say Siri’s wrong. But the cultural consensus of left-leaning tech elites says otherwise.

Forget that Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner often confuses his own pronouns, that he still has a penis, and that according to the Associated Press, he hasn’t legally changed his name yet (though he’s planning to). Siri might want to whitewash these facts, but at the end of the day, the former Olympic Champion remains a busty dude in a skimpy dress.

An annoyance now, this politically correct reinterpretation of information could prove dangerous in the future. At least, Siri still says 2 + 2 still equals 4.
