Yep: It’s time to bring back Dick Cheney.
According to a New York Times report released this morning, Chuck Hagel is getting the boot from Obama:
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is stepping down under pressure, the first cabinet-level casualty of the collapse of President Obama’s Democratic majority in the Senate and the struggles of his national security team amid an onslaught of global crises.
The president, who is expected to announce Mr. Hagel’s resignation in a Rose Garden appearance on Monday, made the decision to ask his defense secretary — the sole Republican on his national security team — to step down last Friday after a series of meetings over the past two weeks, senior administration officials said.
The fact that Chuck Hagel was not particularly suited to run the Pentagon comes as a surprise to nobody who is actually familiar with Chuck Hagel. He’s famously stubborn and difficult to deal with, and he has a long history of being wrong about pretty much everything when it comes to foreign policy.

Hagel wasn't up to the job. Meanwhile…the lady, who lied about Benghazi being the result of a Youtube video, actually got promoted.

What America needs right now is a Defense secretary who understands how to corral the sprawling Pentagon bureaucracy. America needs a SECDEF who can work with Congress to get the authority and funding the department needs to debilitate America’s foes. The country needs a secretary of Defense who also understands politics and the unique dynamics of the White House. America definitely needs a Defense secretary who knows how to oversee and win a war in the Middle East. And America needs a military leader who will stop at nothing to prevent bloodthirsty terrorists from murdering innocent citizens.
That’s right: America needs Dick Cheney. Now more than ever.
