The new Marvel movie, “Black Panther” hits theaters on Thursday night. David Betancourt is a comic book and culture reporter for The Washington Post, who joins Ben Domenech to discuss the casting, the comic book origins, and the hype for this movie.

“Part of the buzz is there are a lot of people, including myself, who have been waiting for this movie for a long time,” he said. “Erik Killmonger is the perfect antagonist to a very heroic Chadwick Boseman…He’s this embodiment of black rage and there is a method to his madness.”

Betancourt and Domenech discuss the rapidly expanding comic book universe and the various adaptations for movies and television.
