“It needs to be a wake-up call. People talk about how Charlie Kirk was such an important figure for the youth, that he was great at organizing the youth — that is true. But he’d also matured in recent years,” The Federalist’s Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway said on Varney. “He was also a very important leader for the entire conservative movement. This is a massive, successful effort, to have taken him out and tried to destroy what he did. And he was so good at leading the conservative movement to understand that it needed to be powerful and advocate truly for its positions. We’ve seen a lot of weakness and impotence on the right, and so Republican leaders need to not just stand up there and say, ‘Oh, we must condemn … both sides do these things.’ They need to actually take the threat from left-wing activists very seriously. They need to investigate how they’re funded, ANTIFA, other terrorist groups.”
The left is “going to war against ICE, they tried to kill Donald Trump. They’ve successfully killed Charlie Kirk. This is a serious group that needs to be taken seriously, and people are looking for Republican leaders to do what needs to be done to make the country safe for free speech and for the values that we hold dear.”
