Alito displays “consistency, no matter whom he interacts with,” Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway said in interview with Josh Hammer Mollie Hemingway said when discussing details from her new book, Alito: The Justice Who Reshaped the Supreme Court and Restored the Constitution. “This was a man who went to elite universities … That did not turn him into a liberal. He had kept the values that he was raised with. He cared about the America that he grew up in. He cared that the liberal elite were destroying cities and making them unsafe. And he was just unchanging.”

Alito “is very principled … but he is also very pragmatic. He thinks about how to secure victories. This is the lesson for conservatives and for Americans in general. There is no conflict between being principled and achieving success.”

Hemingway’s book on Justice Alito was released on April 21. You can order your copy here.
