When you write in ‘American’ on the census, you acknowledge that while our differences are part of us, they don’t compare with all we have in common.
Our country should be governed with political power evenly allocated on a ‘one voter, one vote’ basis. However, to do that, we will need the data from the citizenship question on the census.
Citizenship is a normal thing to include in a major government survey, hence why virtually all major government surveys do. The census has since 1820.
If asking about citizenship is illegal, every census since 1890 has been a crime.
A simple question on the U.S. census has sent Democrats into a tizzy to obscure their political advantages of not knowing citizenship status.
