Republicans should not be bullied or duped into the latest inane round of ‘pledges’ to blindly accept the results of the midterm elections.

Beau Bayh’s last name opens a lot of doors in Hoosier State Democrat Party politics. The son of former Indiana governor and U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh has benefitted immensely from name recognition and his daddy’s campaign cash in his run for secretary of state — a post the Democrats haven’t held in 32 years. It’s been nearly a decade and a half since a Dem has been elected to a statewide office of any kind in the ruby red state.

So when Beau Bayh walked into the City-County Building in Indianapolis Tuesday to vote ahead of next week’s election, the 30-year-old veteran was reportedly hailed as a hero by the Marion County Democrats. Election workers, it seems, were part of the hero worship, Niki Kelly, editor-in-chief of the Indiana Capitol Chronicle, reported.

“Election workers cheered when he arrived and he took a photo with one volunteer,” Kelly wrote in a post on X at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The display didn’t sit well with Republicans worried that the political crush on the Bayh family scion might unduly influence the people working Marion County’s elections.

“Just another reason why we need election monitors in Marion County. Why can’t they just be professional?” commented Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, a Republican, on Kelly’s X post.

The partisan love fest in the Indianapolis elections office is another reason why Republicans should not be bullied or duped into the latest inane round of “pledges” to blindly accept the results of the election.

Stop me if you’ve heard this joke before. A leftist and a RINO walk into the pivotal midterm election cycle and call on their fellow members of Congress to commit to accepting the outcome. No questions asked.

The brains behind this insipid litmus test to determine loyalty to a troubled election system are Reps. Don Bacon, R-Neb., and Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J. The pledge commits lawmakers to opposing “efforts to undermine free and fair elections or override the will of the voters, including any attempt to refuse or delay the seating of any Member-elect who presents a validly issued election certificate.”

It’s all more phony “election denier” garbage bearing the stink of Jan. 6 show trials to silence critics of suspect election administration.

Neocon Bacon has spent a career in Congress playing the part of “moderate” Republican for a swing district in a red state President Donald Trump won by more than 20 percentage points in 2024. Bacon is retiring in no small part because his squish schtick has worn thin among the conservative grassroots.

Gottheimer, too, is viewed as a “moderate” Democrat who generally votes with his party, particularly against election integrity measures like the SAVE America Act. The bill would require documentary proof of citizenship to register and vote in U.S. elections. Gottheimer voted against a resolution calling for the SAVE America Act’s passage after his state was found to have thousands of noncitizens on its dirty voter rolls, some of whom voted in recent elections.

“It’s more than a New Jersey issue. Something went very wrong in New Jersey and we still don’t know the depth and the breadth of it,” Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., said during debate.

Not ‘Born in the USA’

The Department of Justice is suing to stop California from tallying some 20,000 ballots likely sent to noncitizens. As Democrats railed against the lawsuit and the accomplice media covered for California’s more-than-lax voter vetting system, Los Angeles County appears to have tanked the left’s defense. An immigration official this week swore under penalty of perjury that “none of the county’s 200 sample names linked to federal records were born in the United States,” the New York Post reported.

“LA County says a sample of the Trump admin’s 200 names of suspected non-citizen voters showed that 38.9% attested to being born in the US. But in a new sworn statement under penalty of perjury, a DHS official says its investigation shows none of LA County’s 200 names were born in the US,” Fox News correspondent Matt Finn said on X.

First Assistant US Attorney Bill Essayli told the California Post it’s “very highly likely” noncitizens have already voted.

On Monday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled in a 2-1 decision that it lacked jurisdiction over the appeal yet granted Los Angeles County’s motion to dismiss the government’s motion to set aside the 20,000-plus ballots.

The DOJ has filed a similar lawsuit in Washington.

Blue States have refused to use citizenship vetting tools provided by the federal government, as they refuse to turn over voter information to the Department of Justice.

No wonder there’s a crisis of confidence in elections. And yet leftist-funded “voter rights” groups and the accomplice media are calling out campaigns for not pledging to unconditionally accept the midterm election results.

An Unnecessary Pledge

In Iowa, widely watched for its toss-up Senate and House races, Sen. Chuck Grassley was asked whether he would unconditionally support the election results. He understandably said that such a pledge is unnecessary because there are sufficient constitutional protections.

“There is a constitutional provision,” Grassley said, according to RadioIowa. “If somebody was wrongly seated, then they can be discharged from that office, from the House or Senate, by a two-thirds vote.”

He added that he would take the pledge if that would help calm fears “of potential federal interference in next week’s election.”

So the browbeating from the TDS left continues, demanding that lawmakers swear a loyalty oath to election administration led by people who protect ineligible voters on the rolls and cheer preferred candidates as they vote.

Maybe politicians should “attest” to unconditionally accept the results of the midterm elections the same way thousands of noncitizens have attested to being able to vote in U.S. elections.
