On this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour, Michelle Easton, president of The Center for Conservative Women, joins Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky to discuss her new book “How to Raise a Conservative Daughter.”

“I think a key part of today is that many parents don’t realize how powerful social media is. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat they’re immensely influential and a lot of parents fail to filter, restrict it in any way. You can’t cut it out totally, but you can limit it,” Easton said. “You can limit it because so much of what kids are learning, they’re learning on social media.”

Parents, Easton said, must be intentional and teach their children how to have real-world conversations to combat leftist narratives.

“There are steps along the way to get her being thoughtful, to get her thinking about the issues, and it’s not assuming that she’s going to be conservative because you are,” Easton said. “Talk through it. It’s asking her questions, especially understanding right now and this time, the differences between men and women. And if she’s blessed with marriage and child, it’s something wonderful. It’s not a burden.”
