Fox News’s Tucker Carlson charged the National Security Agency (NSA) of spying on him Monday night after he says a whistleblower pre-emptively leaked internal intelligence to the primetime anchor to confirm the government operation.

“Yesterday we heard from a whistleblower within the U.S. government who reached out to warn us that the NSA, the National Security Agency, is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take this show off the air,” Carlson claimed. “The whistleblower, who is in a position to know, repeated back to us information about a story that we are working on that only could have come directly from my texts and emails… The NSA captured that information without our knowledge.”

Carlson said the program made a request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) “for all information that the NSA and other agencies have gathered about this show.”

“We also contacted the press office at both the NSA and the FBI. We don’t expect to hear much back, that’s the way that usually goes,” Carlson said, calling on congressional lawmakers to step in and demand oversight of an agency gone rogue. “Only Congress can force transparency on the intelligence agencies and they should do that immediately. Spying on opposition journalists is incompatible with democracy.”

Carlson, a primary target among leftist U.S. military leaders for his commentary against cultural Marxism metastasizing within the armed forces, warned his more than 3 million average viewers if the Biden regime is spying on his program, “they are almost certainly doing it to others.”

“This is scary and we need to stop it right away,” Carlson said.
