On this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour, author J.D. Vance joins Federalist Publisher Ben Domenech and Senior Editor Chris Bedford to discuss his potential run for a U.S. Senate seat.

“The issue that I’m most focused on right now is the control over our technology oligarchy over both our culture and our economics,” Vance said. “It’s not just that these people censor our speech and control what we’re allowed to say, it’s also that the entire digital technology sphere has an overwhelming amount of authority and how capital gets allocated in our economy.”

Conservatives, Vance said, are standing at a crossroads politically and what the leaders who are elected to their positions need to do is fight for their constituents.

“This is a really interesting moment for our movement in our party and one of the things I would be trying to do is advance an idea for what conservatism will mean in this 21st century that’s dominated by an oligarchy that hates conservatives and hates conservative values,” Vance said. “And in that environment, maybe having some new ideas about where we go, might not be so frustrating, it might actually be invigorating.”
