After months of anticipation, Disney released a trailer for season two of “The Mandalorian” Tuesday, revealing the new mission for galactic bounty hunter Mando is to reunite the Child, colloquially known as Baby Yoda, with “its own kind.”

The popular show from the Star Wars universe is set to premiere Oct. 30 on Disney Plus. The first season of “The Mandalorian” racked up 15 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.

The trailer assures Baby Yoda fans that the Child will remain a central figure in this season’s storyline, showing Mando, played by Pedro Pascal, traveling with his tiny green friend across the galaxy and teasing a short, action-packed fight scene that teases their battles to come.

“You expect me to search the galaxy and deliver this creature to a race of enemy sorcerers?” the Mandalorian asks, referring to what Star Wars fans know as the Jedi.

Executive producer Dave Filoni told Entertainment Weekly that this season’s quest will grow beyond Mando’s protective allegiance to the Child.

“Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy,” Filoni said.

While many fans are anticipating the addition of other major canon characters from the Star Wars universe this season, particularly Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett, none appeared in the trailer. The move to keep the element of surprise harkens back to the season one trailer, which kept Baby Yoda’s character under wraps until the first episode premiered.

The trailer did, however, give a glimpse of a new cloaked character played by WWE star Sasha Banks, who tweeted “This is the Way!” Tuesday morning.

Pascal tweeted his excitement and put his own spin on the catchphrase, “Baby don’t play. This is the way.”
