Avik Roy joins Ben Domenech on this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour to discuss how best to reopen the US economy as the coronavirus pandemic begins to slow down. Roy is the President of The Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity (FREOPP) and an editor at Forbes Opinion.

Roy created a new strategy for bringing people back to work as Americans learn and adapt to COVID-19. Roy explains how his plan will reopen the economy responsibly without having a vaccine, testing, or cure for coronavirus.

“We cannot sustain one, two, three, five years of economic shut down. We’ve already lost something like 22 million jobs just in three weeks of reporting,” Roy said. “Where we’re more optimistic, is we actually believe that it’s possible to responsibly reopen the economy, or begin to reopen the economy, significantly reopening the economy without endangering public health.”
