Sean Flowers, the Mayor of Eureka, Missouri joins Ben Domenech on this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour to discuss how his city is responding to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mayor Flowers and the city of Eureka give a glimpse into how cities across America are dealing with the pandemic. Flowers said it is particularly challenging to manage the city given the onslaught of flooding in Eureka earlier in the year. A mayor has many other priorities when governing a city that a pandemic throws a wrench in the focus on good governance.
“We have some facilities that need to be built, we’re talking about whether or not we need to sell our water system,” Flowers said. “So, [before the pandemic] it was much more of a block and tackle, keep the train running on time type of thing.”
