FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr joins Ben Domenech to discuss social media in 2020, the censorship of political speech, Twitter’s war against “disinformation” and whether social media platforms should be considered publishers.
Carr argues the issue of censorship on platforms may more of a “terms of service” issue than it is a First Amendment issue. “With the spotlight being shined on these decisions, if you continue to alienate half or more of your potential user base, there are going to be new outlets, new platforms that come online that respect what people what.”
