Charlie LeDuff is a Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist, formerly at the New York Times and the Detroit News, and author of the new book, “Sh*tshow: The Country’s Collapsing… And the Ratings Are Great.”
In old fashion, gonzo-style reporting, LeDuff traveled across the country talking to Americans, reporting on the tragic, desperate ways their lives are crumbling and why the media fails to tell their stories. He joins Ben Domenech on this episode of the Federalist Radio Hour.
“Media is just so artificial…makeup and klieg lights and presupposition to what’s really going on,” LeDuff said. “Do I need the jabbering class? What have we ceded? Where’s the best place to make a career, to fulfill yourself as a writer or reporter? It’s on the blocks with real people.”
